Hugh Fuller credits much of his success to hard work and good teammates. Understanding the risk of injury and even death inherent in powerboat racing, he trains similar to how a professional athlete would to mitigate these risks. He has partnered with some of the best Throttlemen in the sport, including Rich Wyatt, Jerry Gilbrath and John Tomlinson. He has won eleven titles (six world and five national championships) and won the OPA World Championship in 2019.
Before transitioning to powerboat racing, Mr. Fuller raced automobiles for nearly a decade. He competed in several well-known events, including the 1994 Grand Prix of Atlanta, the 24 Hours of Daytona, and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
